A Shine of Blues

This detailed and tactile piece of wall art is entirely unique and handmade using soft twisted cotton cords in a serene palette of blue hues. The design features textural macrame picots which contrast with the uniform square knotting and creates a sense of shifting visual elements. The perception of form and volume is achieved through the use of graduating colour tones in the spherical form of chunky loops which stand proud and add air to the density of the main body.
 
The wall hanging is finished by the beautiful fringe which features details of wrap knotting in complementary colours.  The piece is knotted on to a light-gathering, pale blue transparent acrylic solid dowel which fluoresces in natural light. 
 
The idea of 'A Shine of Blues' came from the late afternoon skies during the shortest winter days when the sun is low and moon is rising.
