Spring Peony

Handmade with pale blue and pale green braided cotton cords and using the technique of macrame, this intricate textural wall hanging features a delicate lace-like pattern with detailing of merino wool tufting, knotted satin rattail cord in neon yellow, pale blue and glossy green.  Transparent green ribbon has been woven and stitched into the wall hanging. 'Spring Peony' features two transparant coloured acrylic dowels which gather and emit light in daylight and under the effect of a light source: a yellow dowel suspends the wall hanging and a pale blue dowel is also incorporated into the knotting of this delicate piece. The colour palette for this piece was inspired by the peonies in springtime.
